House without Function - Design E01

My very first project in our very first lecture in my very first lesson of design, which got me very much overchared. The task was to design a house without a function, that solely focuses on the architectural quality of interior rooms, materiality and lightning. The final modell had to fit into a 50cm x 50cm square and required a scale of 1:33 (I cheated and scaled mine 1:30 to better calculate the lengths). Besides these guidelines there were no possible limitations.

I had to work pretty longtime on my modell, because I imagined the structure of crepepaper glued on the surface of the carton to look really great. Actually everything but the look turned out to be really great, costing me 24hours of glueing crappy-looking crepepaper on my tiles, resulting in lack of time and a childish looking set of boxes. I planed to fill those gaps with acrylic glass, but wisely spending so much time on ruining the modell I had none left to ready the windows.

I am little to not satisfied with me resulting modell, because in my eyes I very much misdid the colors (the contrast between the orange crepepaper and the dark blue one looks as nice, as the lighter blue color sucks hard). I also haven't been able to finish the modell properly, lacking acrylic glass, which surely would have looked very cool and it cost me so much time to get this poor result. I also recieved quite a harsh critique, objecting the lack of concept (I added so much things without reasoning farther than: "hey, that might look cool, let's add it") and all those different thoughts and things and confusement all added unnecessarily into one modell. Enough whining for now and some pictures to your judgement.
